Description
Located on an elevated plateau, Santo da Serra stands out for its rural and romantic atmosphere, ensured by its mountainous landscapes and its verdant surroundings, with an exotic and dense flora.

We will pass by a historical monument, the Fountain of the English, or the Bishop's Fountain. The multiple toponymy of the fountain originates from the summer residence that the prelate of Funchal had nearby and from the presence of the many English names that are engraved on the backrests of the fountain.
At the end of the visit to the local market, we continue the path to Quinta do Santo da Serra. Here you can find a small exhibition of animals, observe different indigenous and exotic tree and shrub species, a viewpoint over the mountains of the municipality of Machico, Ponta de São Lourenço, Porto Santo Island and a picnic area.
