Description

We view works by top Portuguese and international artists, as well as by up-and-coming local artists. They include Shepard Fairey, Vhils, Bordalo II, TV Boy, Joana Vasconcelos, Andrea Tarli, Urban Solid and Utopia. Each work is commented upon, with the artists' words (when available) and the techniques for each work are discussed. The issues they raise provoke discussions about the place of art in society, about social and political issues of all kinds, and about the nature of art itself. It would be impossible to see all the street art in Lisbon in one tour, so we focus on two neighbourhoods with particularly rich collections: Graça and Mouraria. We don't forget other forms of public art, such as sculptures and the ubiquitous beautiful tiles of Lisbon.
