After pickup in Porto or Vila Nova de Gaia, the first stop will be in Viana do Castelo. This city has everything, from rivers, to the ocean, lagoons, and mountains. On the top of the Mount Santa Luzia, visit the magnificent sanctuary of Santa Luzia that is inspired on Sacre Coeur in Paris. This sanctuary has a superb 360-degree view of the city, considered one of the best in the world. Next you will visit the oldest village in Portugal, Ponte de Lima, built on the banks of the Lima river. Explore the vast heritage of this place in its historical center. Known for the famous bridge that was built by the Romans in the medieval period, the bridge provided the only safe passage over the Lima river. Continue on to Valença, to see the medieval fortress built there. The fortress was built strategically as the main point of defence in Minho. Now a monument, the fort was built to protect Portugal from Spanish troops. At the end of your private full-day tour, you will be dropped off back at your hotel in Porto or Vila Nova de Gaia.
